Today we've begun adding Chinese steam locomotives to http://www.steamlocomotive.info. We have information on about 2900 and we believe the list to be less than 3 years out of date. At least I hope that is true. You can browse around China using the following url: http://steamlocomotive.info/china.cfm I've managed to enter about 110 locomotives this morning, and will do more as time permits. Also have data for about 1200 locomotives in Russia, which I'll attack after I finish the China festivities. Enjoy (or not, your choice) Regards, Doug |

Not one QJ showing stored or operational in all of China! In '87 when I was there we'd joke, ho-hum, another set of double-headed QJ's. Who'd of thought that 20 years later you'd have to go to Iowa to see two QJ's together! Thanks for doing the grunt work of putting that directory together. |

There are QJ's but they have yet to be entered. I've gotten through about 250 of the nearly 3000 I need to enter. Doug |

Doug, Thanks for all of your hard work! I really enjoy the website. I have added a number of photos from China. I'll add more as I find them. Merry Christmas, Tommy |

None of the splendid SL & RM Pacifics operational either. Lots of cab rides on those in the early & mid 80s. |

Thanks for the kind words. I'm still working on the site after 7 years. How weird is that? Anyhow, I've completed data entry for close to 900 locomotives so I'm about a third of the way through. I'm pretty sure that this list dates to somewhere around 2006, which means that it shows a LOT of locomotives as operational, when they aren't anymore. I'm sure more knowledgeable people than I will send corrections. Doug |

Well, I'm up to 1471 locomotives entered for China. Just about the half-way mark. Hope to get another 500 or so input today. Some interesting questions have come up as a result of this data entry, but I'll address them in another thread. |
