Last year I purchased MoPac Extended Vision Caboose 13641 from the Cabot, Arkansas School District. The caboose was left unlocked, all windows were broken and it was being destroyed by vandals.

The caboose had been gutted before donation to the school district so there is no original inside equipment to preserve. Our intention is to cosmetically restore the caboose to its original condition as much as possible and any information regarding sources of replacement doors, windows etc. would be appreciated. Like many cabooses the windows were welded over but we would like to restore them if possible. I don't know if any glass or frames are left under the sheet metal.

We especially would like to find information and photographs of this caboose when it was in active service (where did it run etc.).

I have the book Cabooses of the Missouri Pacific Lines and it is a little confusing in that it shows 13641 as built for MoPac but then it is also listed under Texas & Pacific which makes me wonder if it might have been assigned to T&P after use by MoPac.

Of particular interest is locating a means of replacing the 48" Buzz Saw when we eventually repaint the caboose. If it could be done with Scotchlite that would be even better.

Thank you for any assistance possible.

Only so you know this guy isn't someone who has no idea what he's getting into or looking for.

Good luck with you new acquisition. Sad to see that the school couldn't properly secure and maintain this piece.
