Saturday, January 9th On Saturday, January 2nd, George Peck will lead a crew meeting at Phoenicia between 8:30am to 9am. Plans are to do boltwork somewhere east of the Route 28 crossing in Mt. Pleasant with the work train. The 702 crew plan to start at 10am. Plans are to work on brakes and installing one of the end doors. There will be no work scheduled for Kingston on Saturday. Saturday January 2nd On Saturday, January 2nd, George Peck, Greg Peck, Jason DiTolla and Michael Adsit. They moved the train from Mt. Pleasant to Phoenicia, and spent the rest of the day in the yard reorganizing equipment for the winter months. Saturday, January 9th On Saturday, January 9th, George Peck led a crew consisting of Dave Mason, Brian Mason, Michael Adsit, and Jason DiTolla. Saturday, January 16th On Saturday, the 702 crew worked on brake installation, installing the main brake valve and links. The crew consisted of George Liucci, Ernie Gehrer, d**k Wilhelm and Al Johnson. Also on Saturday, George Peck led a crew at MP 24.2 that installed bolts in about 50 joints. The crew consisted of George Peck, Greg Peck, Mike LaLonde, John Watson, Mike Adsit and two newcomers. Saturday, January 23rd On Saturday, January 23rd, George Peck led a crew consisting of Greg Peck, John Watson, PJ Hintz, Paul Sternitzke, Michael Adsit, Dave Mason, Derek Stapleton, Jason DiTolla, and newcomer Earl. Because of torch problems, only one joint was done. However, the crew reset five rails on the north side of the track to improve bolt and rail joint alignment. EH |

Saturday, February 6th On Saturday, George Peck led a crew replacing bolts near Rock rock. They replaced bolts in 16 joints east of the cut and 28 west of the cut for a total of 44 joints. The crew consisted of Mike Adsit, Derek Stapleton, Earl Martin, Dave Mason, Brian Mason and John Watson. Also on Saturday, the 702 crew worked on brakes. The crew consisted of Ernie Gehrer, George Liucci, Dick Wilhelm, Steve Gollow and Al Johnson. Sunday, February 7th On Sunday, Earl Pardini led a crew at Cornell Street. What is the status of the two steam locomotives under restoration at Kingston? Have they become "forgotten projects" given all the recent emphasis on reopening the trackage out of Kingston and establishing excursion operations there? Frederick G. Bailey |

The two steam engines are not owned by the CMRR and are not CMRR projects. The larger engine, No. 23, belongs to the Empire State Railway Museum. The smaller engine is the personal property of CMRR President Earl Pardini. Work has been slow on these engines lately, though may resume this winter. EH |

Saturday, February 13th On Saturday, George Peck led a crew replacing bolts east of Rock cut at MP 23.8. They replaced bolts in 26 joints. The crew consisted of Jason DiTolla, Mike Adsit, Dave Mason, Earl Martin, and Mark Glaser. To date this year, the Phoenicia crew has replaced bolts in 123 joints (492 bolts), which has tightened bolts in over 1/3 mile of track. Sunday, February 14th On Sunday, Earl Pardini led a crew at Cornell Street. The crew consisted of Bob Blake, Mark Glaser, Ernie Klopping, and newcomer Steve Warren.
