Does Union Pacific still own Big Boy #4023? Until recently, it was on display in Omaha's Kenefick Park until Omaha decided to redevelop the area. Now it's in storage at the Western Heritage Museum (I think) but not on display, and I've heard rumors it might be on its way back to Cheyenne en route to a new home. Anybody have any recent news?

RE: UP Big Boy 4023 Status?
UPRRPR The 4023 belongs to the City of Omaha. It was donated when Kenefick Park was built. As far as I know no decision has been made on exactly what will be done with it and the 6900, but I expect they will be put on public display somewhere in the vicinity of new arena.

From the department of good sources:

The locomotives were supposed to be displayed in/around the new convention center being built at the site of Union Pacific's shops. However, the developer doesn't seem to be interested in that. Word has it that the Western Heritage Museum is possibly interested in obtaining them to display at Union Station.
