The board of directors of the Friends of the Cumbres and Toltec (FOCTS) met last Saturday. This body selected new directors for the Rio Grand Railway Preservation Corp. (RGRPC) which operates the CTSRR under contract with the Bi-state Commission. After accepting resignations from John Craft, Dick Cowles, Joe Vigil and John West, The BoD retained current members Geof Gordon and Warren Smalley. They appointed Bill Albert (from Chama) and Rich Casford (from California). A fifth member is yet to be appointed. While there is some regret that Mr. West resigned, the mood in Chama is jubilant. No 'official' announcement has yet been made by the FOCTS. This report came from interviews with highly placed sources in Chama and elsewhere. The Dead Goat Saloon drgw483@la-tierra.com |
