If you look hard enough, you can actually locate the state that this "Wilmington" is located - North Carolina. At least that's where the newspaper is located. This Sat (16th of Jan) through March 15th. Wilmington has a great, bygone history as a railroad town. So it's with a sense of nostalgia that the Wilmington Railroad Museum will bring in for display 30 stunning photographs on loan from the O. Winston Link Museum in Roanoke, Va. /MG |

Excuse me?!?!? The first words that popped up when I clicked on the link: "Star-News Online Wilmington, NC" You know, my crotchety, "old fogey" complaint is that "young people" today have the general historical and geographical awareness of tree slugs. Please don't prove me accurate, as I always claim railfans are supposed to be an exception....... |

Actually, "Star-News Online" are the first words most would see, with the location of the news publication much smaller and underneath. No where in the article is the state listed, which may very well be acceptable if you are a local or reading the news while you are sitting in Wilmington, NC. As for geographical awareness - you may think North Carolina when you hear Wilmington but I think Delaware - home of Wilmington and Western Railroad. We now return you to your regularily scheduled thread... /Mitch |

My suggestion: Get out more. Especially out of your "comfort zone." I've been to the Wilmington RR Museum and would recommend it, as I would the Wilmington & Western. There are also Wilmingtons in California, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Vermont, and I think Kansas........... |

Jeeze, Louise, Mr. Mitchell, I was only attempting to make it easier for those who may have been curious as to where the event was being held. I live in Philadelphia, and no, not the one you're thinking of in Mississippi, but rather the one in PA, so naturally, I think of DE before I think of NC, CA, IL, MA, NY, OH, VT, or VA! /Mitch |

Well, when I saw "O. Winston Link", I thought of Roanoke VA. And I live in Wilmington, DE. I can recommend both a visit to the Wilmington & Western in Delaware, and a visit to the Link museum in Roanoke VA. |
