This happened last night, and I thought everyone would like to see what this particular family does around 1:30 into the clip. On Jan. 16, a CSX train derailed in downtown Orlando, blocking traffic for several hours due to a cracked wheel. http://www.wftv.com/video/22255975/index.html |

Common occurrence at 58th St. in Philly on CSX, where trains often block the crossing for 5-10 min. at a time while crews swap out at RG tower, a little over 4,000' away. With the intermodal trains, the CSX police often sit up at the crossing watching them, and will chase people off doing this, but for just about any other kind of train, trespassers are on their own. |

I accessed the TV station website, but found nothing about a train derailment. Could someone who saw the video provide what the late Chick Hearn would call a "words-eye view"? |

Looks like an empty hopper train suffered a broken wheel in the middle of the consist strung out across several major grade crossings in Orlando, FL and derailed that truck of that car. It apparently took several hours to get the rear of the train cleared from the crossings, leaving buses and cars stranded from getting to several events in the area. Some people climbed through the train to get to the other side in full view of the news cameras. |

To see the video follow the link given and wait a moment on the page that comes up. Eventually a video player will open and then you have to wait through a 15 second commercial before the news story begins playing. But it's just as described. Steve |
