The sad thing is that this is the most significant part of the collection. The DL&W parlor MUs were subscription cars on the Lackawanna right up until thier retirement with NJT in the 1980s. In addition there is PRR 1734 which was the Jersey Shore Commuters Club car that operated right up until the end of GG1s on NJ Transit in 1983. All of these cars on the list have a more significant NJ history than just about anything that has been restored in the collection to date with the exception of the CNJ GP7s and PRR coach 1547. The loss of these artifacts basically justifies the criticism that some throw at the URHS that it is a bunch of grown men playing 1:1 model railroading.

Just my $.02

I looked at the DL&W parlor cars last year and in my opinion they are beyond reasonable hope of restoration. At certain spots you can stand outside looking through holes in the bottom sill and see daylight coming through from the far side.

The Pennsy cars and the Erie Stillwell are stored at the Gilbert Generating Station near Milford, NJ on the out of service part of the Bel-Del. Recently I have heard a story that ownership of the stuff stored there has gone to the electric company because of a missed deadline to move the stuff. If true its a real catch 22 because at this point I think any of that stuff would have to be trucked out.
