Hi folks yes its a busy week before the wind starts and the temps plummet, another update showing progress on the West end.
Anyone know why the planking appears to have been grooved out after fitting? Take a look at the side view of the end and you will see all the overrun saw cuts in the belt rail, this was the same all along the sides as well.

I can't imagine why, but could this have been from a previous replacement of siding? Seems logical if it had only been intermittent. Wonder if any other wooden car guys have run across this?

There may have been a problem with swelling. If water got behind the siding, it may have swelled and they cut the groove area to get relief.
