I had the pleasure of seeing the museum this past summer. Its actually a very nice facility, with artifacts, interactive exhibits and full size equipment. Suffers from being one of the "best kept secrets" in Omaha though. Dave Crosby |

No doubt you meant Ogden Utah. Dave Crosby wrote: Suffers from being one of the "best kept secrets" in Omaha though.

I've seen and photographed the 'Moon Glow' in the past month. It's not wrapped in tarps. It's easily accessible from a public street and is not secured in any way. That being said, there's really not much there to secure, just a gutted shell with no side sheets and no windows. I'd hoped to see it restored long before now. |

According to the Standard-Examiner article; "In 1990, a local train enthusiast found the Moon Glow, believed to be the only remaining piece of the train, in an Idaho junkyard" Does anyone know the backstory on this discovery? I live with 60 miles of Boise ID and generally stay abreast of railfan and preservation activities in the state (truth to tell there usually isn't all that much), but this if the first I've heard of that story. I'm curious as to how the discovery was made, if the "local train enthusiast" might be someone I know, or in a location I'm familiar with. |

According to WebLurker's DomeMain website, "Moon Glow" was found in a scrapyard in Pocatello. http://www.trainweb.org/web_lurker/GM/ |
