Hi Guys!

Was just told that someone from Savannah left a voice mail on the Museum's answering machine for me....but it was deleted. Would Dave or someone from Savannah museum please contact me at their earliest convenience? Thanks!!

Thanks Mike I am contacting you off list.

Roundhouse Railroad Museum almost finished with exterior cosmetic restoration of junker of Titanic proportions - heavyweight pullman COLUMBUS. If there was a silk purse from a sows ear award, this one should win it.

GOAT just passed annual hydro and steam tests with flying colors. Young Jason Sobczinski our new steam team guy did a fine job making some running repairs and upgrading the lubrication fittings all around. The brass from the board room across the street promises monthly GOAT events with steam action coinciding with other doings on site but no schedule posted yet.

Our fleet of motorcars now boasts an old high wheeled 8 horse Fairmont gang car and army surplus Kalamazoo up and running, a C of G Fairmont MR 19 in process.

We will welcome our new director very soon - a real professional from a large railroad museum in the northern midwest - who will provide the missing development - business - programming expertise we have needed badly for a long time. May it herald a new and successful phase in growth and development.

As I move on and take a much less intensive "as - needed" role for the museum I am proud of the staff and facilities we have developed in the past three years I worked fairly constantly there - a bit more than the 3 days I originally contracted to provide. The shops staff of Jason, Clappy Clapcott, and Lou Sommers can handle almost anything that comes their way. Best Wishes to Dave Vago as he moves to Cass for the summer.

Stay tuned for some news soon about some very old Central of Georgia wooden coaches hopefully going to good homes in the near future.

Dave
