Well, I've finished doing the data entry so now steamlocomotive.info has 2700+ Chinese steam locomotives in its database. The information, at best is 5 years old, so many of the locomotives listed as active will likely have passed from operational to the scrap heap, and as we find out about them, we'll update the database. One of the things I want to change, as a result of the experience of entering these locomotives, is that currently, the website counts a locomotive as existing even if it has been scrapped. A few programming changes will be necessary to fix this. I hope to work on those changes this week. We have data for 1100+ locomotives in Russia, and perhaps another 300 spread among a dozen or so countries, and will be working throughout the winter to finish this stuff up. To those of you who actually enjoy the website, thanks for the kind words. Regards, Doug |

A huge "thank you" for all the work that goes into the site! I know that I'm constantly referencing it; it's truly a monumental achievement that such a huge amount of information is available in one place. Thanks for all your work! |
