I was curious when I saw the article attributed to the Herald-Zeitung. I expected to see reference to a "goods-wagon" somewhere in Central Europe. Then I clicked on the link and found that it was from Texas. This reminded me that there's a part of the Lone Star State that had a major influx of German settlers back in the 19th Century, and that many of their descendants work diligently to keep traditions alive. |

Bob - My son-in-law tells me that his father was a minister in New Braunfels for quite a while and because of the time he spent there, my son-in-law learned to understand and speak German quite well. Interesting that there now is a railroad museum there. Not mentioned in the newspaper article is the road name and car number for the 60' boxcar. Anyone know what it is? Les |
