Hey Folks!
It's beginning to look a bit more like spring in the Twin Cities again, and as such, it is time for the U of M Railroad Club's Gopher Rail!
Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 27, 2010!!!
We will have a great lineup of speakers this year, including Steve Sandberg of Milwaukee Road 261 fame and the people at ACTS, a train dispatch monitoring program. As in previous years, the event will be structured around our core group of speakers (see attachment or http://www.gopherrail.org). Supplementing will be an enormous modular "FreeMo" HO-scaled layout, our large club layout (newly expanded), silent auction and photo contest (see attachment).
This is our organization's biggest fundraiser as well as the group's best way to give back to the community. The speakers we have cover all areas of preservation, railroading and model railroading, and the event offers something for people of all ages! This has been a growing event for 6 years in the Twin Cities Metro Area, and if you are near and interested, I hope to see you at the event!
