I believe you will find many engineers who are also mechanics and interpreters on this list. few of us have the luxury to specialize.

I have a license on CSX (qualified between Baltimore and Richmond) and have run steam other places and times, but have not yet had a chance to use being legal to run steam yet. Who knows if I'll ever get the chance?

Hard to answer all these questions when we don't even know the name of the CD, when it was produced, who made it, or when each cut was recorded. With more detail probably some answers can be found.

Doyle's number 1 is Bill Stetler. The 3751 has Mike Thornton a BNSF hogger from Needles and a retired Santa Fe steam man George Clous also from Needles.

I wasnt asking who was engineer of the steam on my CD, I was saying I was listening to it.

My question was simply who are the engineers that run the steam locos we talk about here, and of them who post here.

To me, "Steam Engineer" always invokes a vision of an older person who would rather see a computer inside a hot firebox than try to make it e-mail his buddies across the country. (What a clinker that would be...)

I know this isn't true, of course. And for the record, I know Mr. Rimmasch, our own CMO slash Engineer at Heber Valley RR, gets on here from time to time to see what's going on.

Along with Mark, I am an engineer at Tennessee Valley (also, conductor, fireman, hostler, agent, or whatever else needs or has needed doing, but mostly engineer and fireman). I was a staff member for six years before joining the so-called "Thoroughbred" team as a conductor on the Georgia Division - North End.
