803 looks like it has all of its parts painted and put together at IRM.

Here's a link to the IRM rooster page.

The Milwaukee Road had 12. 12+3+5=20.

I stand corrected, ONE of them retired for parts, must be 801, trying to locate data on it, I tend to think it was scrapped.

Here are some recent photos of the ones in Brazil.

Yes, the 801 was cannibalized for parts to keep the other two running, and was out of service by 1975 or so. I'm not sure when it was actually scrapped. Somewhere I've got a slide or two of it on the rip track at Michigan City, but my slide scanner is kaput.

I asked on the South Shore forum on railfan net,

Quote:
I'm not sure of the exact date, but it was in 1976. It was stored at Shops to be used as a parts source for 802 and 803, then finally scrapped when the 2000-2009 GP38-2's went into service on January 1, 1980.

The South Shore modded one of the NYC electrics also about that time so that may have relieved one of the 800s for duty. What was it about 7 700s in operation by that time?

The electric loco in Brazil pictured on flickr is not a "Little Joe" but another built by GE around the same time on an original order for Brazil. It's a 2-C+C-2 whereas the "Joes" are 2-D+D-2.

The road numbers of the real "Little Joes" in Brazil are 6451-6455.

The photo in the adjacent thumbnail (of No. 4455) is a Little Joe, albeit with a modified headlight casing.
