This came through on my Flickr feed. I tried looking it up on steamlocomotive.info but was not able to find it.

I'm certain that this engine has no connection to CN or the GTR or GTW etc.

The lead and trailing axle 'bearings' on that locomotive are simply a burned out plate. Also note the incorrect installation of the grab irons on the caboose.

Look at the unnaturally tall steam dome. It appears to be a butchered 0-4-0T, and the sandbox seems to have stayed with the tank.

The steaminfo notes say it was recovered from a quarry and that many parts were missing. Perhaps it was originally a PRR T-1 :-)

I use google reader. Sometimes when you are surfing you might notice a website has a little orange symbol on the right hand side of the address. That indicated it ives an RSS feed. RSS stands for really simple syndication. Once you sign up for google reader you can subscribe to anything with an RSS feed.

When people post photos to Flickr they "tag" them with key words. Flickr will send ever photo tagged "steam locomotive" to my google reader page. I simply scroll through them and open the ones that peak my interest. If it is a preserved or noteworthy locomotive I post it on rypn to share. I probably look at 100 thumbnail photos for each one I post.

The steam locomotive feel is linked here:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/steamlocomotive/

I also subscribe to "Abandoned and Disused Trains" at:

http://www.flickr.com/groups/425158@N25/

Google news will also combine all new news stories and put them in a rss stream. This is the google steam locomotive news feed:

http://news.google.com/news/search?aq=f ... omotive%22

and the google "narrow gauge" feed:

http://news.google.com/news/search?aq=f ... w+gauge%22

There are lots more rail related photo streams and you could end up view a thousand photos a day if you are not careful.

I found this tutorial on RSS here:

http://mollypiper.com/2008/04/what-is-r ... le-reader/

The beauty of RSS on google reader is that you just get either a thumbnail or a short headline and if something jumps out at you you can click and if not you can pass.

I hope this helps. Let me know and I'll be happy to explain more about rss. let me warn you it is addicting.
