my WW&F first steam up pictures

On Saturday the WW&F Railway Museum in Alna, Maine ran their Easter Express and first steam-up of the year.
Absolutely spectacular weather made this day most memorable.
Another round of thanks go out to the crew, they put on a show up there like no other.
I strongly recommend a visit to ride the 2-foot gauge; it is well worth your time.

What is the long wooden structure with the truck way in the back of it?

I am glad to hear the museum has come to life for another season!

That would be a shot through bay 3 of the enginehouse/shop/storage building. The truck is stored in there during the winter months (and goes in and out through the front doors directly behind it. (The tracks do not run through the building.)

Just a reminder to any who might be interested, the WW&F's Spring Track Weekend is coming up on April 23-25. We will be replacing a culvert near Alna Center, surfacing and lining track, painting the shop extension and, dependent on manpower, probably working on several other projects. All are welcome. The workday is from around 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m., and meals are provided to workers. There is plenty of time to explore, photograph the trains and shoot the breeze, too.

Has all the track been laid to the big wash out? Has it been ballasted and tamped
yet? I was there in April 2007 for ballast and tamping work and had walked to
the end of the cleared line.

No. We still have a ways to go before we get to the washouts. We're (effectively) at the "Top of the Mountain" (just south of the stub siding that marks the crest of that grade.)

Here's a map that indicates the 3 washouts and the bridge needed in relation to the current end of track:
