Hi all. Would anyone happen to know where the archives are for General Electric in Erie, PA? I'm looking for drawings/blueprints for a locomotive that was built in 1939 there. Wabash 51 specifically. A 43 tonner.

If you find them, I'd be interested in a set as well. nice looking engine.

For a 1939 Erie built locomotive the drawings would be on film and would still be at the Engineering Department in Erie. For photos there is a GE Erie historical society, run mostly by retired employees, located in an old training facility. It is accessed on the north side of the plant, not through the main gate. It has limited hours, but does welcome visitors. My impression was that its primary focus was employee activities and the history of the Erie Works. But I found some technical data. For product photos try the Schenectady Musuem in Schenectady. This is the facility on Knott Place with the GN Alco sitting in front. They have the GE publication bureau files including 2,000,000 photos. The GE collection is in the basement and the archivist is Chris Hunter. Call in advance to see what he can accommodate and plan several days there.
