Does anyone have any information and/or photos of the two Lancaster, OH cars that were stored intact for many years and later acquired by the Ohio Historical Society? I recall one car may have been restored and the other car scrapped for parts? Was the scrapped car the source of the spare single shop truck auctioned off at Lake Shore?

Thanks.

My understanding - based purely on secondhand information, so I could be wrong on this - was that the closed car, number 6, had been heavily rebuilt by OHS to effectively turn it into a replica horsecar. A photo of the car as it exists now, displayed by OHS, can be seen at http://www.davesrailpix.com/odds/oh/htm/ohs01.htm. From the photo it appears that it was returned to pedestal mounts for the axles, which may mean that the Lake Shore single truck came from this car (the controllers from this car are also owned by a different trolley museum). I believe, though I have no current evidence of this, that the second car (open car number 3) is still in existence and in storage at some OHS facility. Any more current info would be greatly appreciated!

Frank,

Thanks for the update. Can you tell me who has the controllers from the horse car?
