OK What I am looking for is the major railroads of the U.S. Passenger railroads across the U.S. When did the first train of that name make its maiden voyage. Then when was the last train of that name taking its last trip. For example The Atlantic Coast Line---started August 8, 1899 and last trip of The Atlantic Coast Line before merging with The Seaboard Coast Line was in 1967. Please help me if you can. Stu

Please distinguish between the railroad name (Atlantic Coast Line, Seaboard Coast Line, etc.) and the passenger train name (Nancy Hanks, Silver Meteor, Tamiami Express, etc.). Those are entirely different and involve a whole different function of research.
