Post subject:  Lap Joint Math

From Machinery's Handbook:

Moment of Inertia is equivalent to inertia in motion equations. Inertia is resistance to change in motion. Moment of Inertia is the property of resistance to a bending moment.

BM1 is the bending moment created by the lap.
BM2 is the bending moment created in each plate to resist BM1.
