Now, when I saw this link, I thought it was something about an actual tornado, most likely in the Midwest, regarding a train trip home (maybe chasing 844?) - but then I saw the link, and realized it was "Tornado" in Britain...*sigh* - oh well. Nice ambiguous title though. :)

You may be interested in a news item just surfaced in the railway press over here. The A1 Locomotive Trust are now seriously looking at a second project to keep their team together until Tornado needs an overhaul. The new project is a replica of the Gresley P2 2-8-2 2001 "Cock O' The North". The second locomotive is in the same design family with many common parts. This has been kicked over unofficially for a while, now it seems likely they mean business.

2001 would be something quite different to anything on rails in the UK right now.
