Did the State of West Virginia ever decide on the disposition of the ex-Army 2-8-0 stored at the Cass Scenic RR? Last I saw posted, there were a couple of parties interested in the locomotive and the State was trying to determine which was the best for the locomotive's future.

I had a meeting at Cass a few weeks ago, and heard it straight from the horse's mouth (state official) that the 2-8-0 has been sold, and the buyer has been there to inspect it. The buyer is a well known steam restoration entity, but I'm not at liberty to reveal his identity. I was told that his intent is to find a suitable home for it, and resell it as an operating locomotive.

I guess time will tell how all this pans out.....

Isn't Robert Franzen the former CMO of the Grand Canyon Railway?
