Some interesting items there . . . like the Pfaudler milk car at the bottom of the page. Is it time to bring one of these home to New England?

By no means is it the last one preserved. There are lots of those ex-Pullman Troop Sleepers around. We have two of them at the Elgin County Railway Museum in St. Thomas, Ontario that were later converted to C&O work service.

One of them we have we have completely restored to a Troop Sleeper externally and a coach internally for use during Day Out With Thomas.

The other we just acquired last year and has not been restored as of yet which is still in it's MOW kitchen car configuration.

Probably most important is that they realized that "We're not going to ever get to these" and are letting them go. Cute Baldwin switcher........

Me neither. It's amazing how I just keep discovering railway museums I didn't even know existed. That and the Maine museum that's for sale... that's two in one day!

Their website is just orful... None of the picture links work... (oh wait, I see it *does* work in Internet Explorer for Windows, who still uses that?) Also, all the text on the whole site is rendered as a JPEG graphic instead of as actual text, a fair way to prevent copying but a great way to get missed by search engines.

Are you referring to the museum near Cincinnati, or the museum in Maine? If you mean the one in Maine, please post a link. I can't find it.

So you mean the Cincinnati website. The way you worded it the first time sound like you were referring to the website of the railroad museum in Maine.

I am of the school of thought that if it works, why change, so IE works for me. I also find that when you change one thing in your computer, three other things change that you didn't expect and it becomes difficult to find those out.

Later!

Interesting that they're going to sell the Milk Car. When I visited there in 2005 that was one of there "pride and joy" pieces.

They have a great wealth of PRR equipment and take great pride in what they have restored.

That C&O MOW troop sleeper is one of many that they have.

Regards,
John

K5aHudson,

I think this is the Maine Museum Robert MacDowell was referring to: City Point Railroad Museum, Belfast Me: http://www.realtyofmaine.com/index.php/ ... ial/957587

I think this was posted about 6 months ago (maybe on another list), with a re-posting the other day.
