I was given a stack of photos that got wet, and are now all stuck together. Does anyone know of a way to salvage them? I'm not sure what's even on them, just that they are supposedly all railroad pictures, and the top one at least is.

Assuming these are b&w darkroom prints, I'd soak them in room temp water, with a wetting agent like photoflow, or possibly a couple drops of dish detergent. Gently agitate them every half hour or so. They should peal apart on their own.

Then gently blot them free of excess moisture and dry them between blotter papers if possible, so they dry flat. The emulsion on the paper may get somewhat fragile, so be careful not to abrade them! If blotter paper isn't an option, try paper towels on the backs and wax paper on the print side. They could be stacked this way with a bit of weight on them to keep them flat. It may take several days for them to dry.

Thanks for the info. It looks like some old color prints are mixed in the stack, will that make a difference?
