While there have been zillions of photos taken of SP 4449 since its revival in 1975, I had never seen any of it on display at Oaks Park in Portland. Found some sad ones here on Trainorders.com. Other engines should be so lucky!

Try again, without the extra "http".

I don't know Doyle personally, but I think that is him in the cab.

Taken as 4449 moved out of Oaks Park for rebuild.

Despite the poor conditions under which the locomotives were stored at Oaks Park, it turned out to be a lucky place. Besides 4449, the SP&S700 was restored and the UP3203 is being restored at Brooklyn roundhouse. Also a Finish 5ft gauge 2-8-0 which was donated by the Finish Consular was later sent to Junction City near Eugene where it is displayed with a roof over its head. Oaks Park might be the closest thing we have to the Barry Scrapyard in this country.

Post subject:  Oaks Park Alumni?

Does anyone have a list, dates of removal, or better yet photos of the equipment at Oaks Park?

UP 3203 (OR&N 197), SP 4449, SP&S 700 now at Brooklyn Roundhouse

Finish 2-8-0 now at Jct. City

Forestry Center Shay (from when to when)

Trolley sweeper (confirmed?)

Thanks,

Smokebox
