CP's St. Luc Yard, in Montreal, still has its 1950-built roundhouse intact and in good condition. When our crews tie up there, they usually take the engines to the "coal chute", now a diesel fueling and sanding area. Was this the original coal chute?

Good question, Bob. I have spent hours exploring St. Luc (with permission!) and always assumed the steam facility was all from 1949.

Have you herd of plans for the roundhouse?

I have shot so many different (and ridden) locomotives on it. I'd love to see #2816 take a spin.

What is your usual job? Saratoga-Montreal?

A CP rules examiner told me a couple of years ago that part of it was to be torn down, but my last trip up there a couple of months ago, it was still intact, in use by Progress Rail. Been working 261 (Ft. Edward-Whitehall) lately, but just got back on the 2330 "night rag" switcher at Saratoga, starting tomorrow.
