Wasatch is conducting some major repairs to the Boiler of 141R No 568 Located in Switzerland. Our customer has assigned me the task of finding some volunteers to aid in the project. Clearly we need local volunteers, however, I have a few questions;

A.) If some assistance ($) were provided, would anybody reading this thread want to go over from the states? Follow-up question; if no assistance were provided (-$) would anybody want to come?

B.) Is anybody in Switzerland reading this thread that would like to come and help?

The projects will take place in two or three, two week sessions beginning as early as July 5. The project must be completed by September 1, 2010. Our customer is working on excursions for December of this year. If any of you want to see a very fine example of modern steam.....you need to come see this locomotive operate.

I would be surprised if anybody reading this doesn't know what a 141-R is, but just in case, it's a postwar American-built 2-8-2, (or as the axle-counting French would call it, a 141). These were the so-called "Reconstruction" engines. The design is based on a series of 2-8-2s built for the Green Bay & Western.

I have to admit to being surprised, didn't expect to find so much internet material so quickly!

Enjoy!

John,
Took the liberty of posting this on Smokstak Steamers.

So that the children of a lesser god might also have a crack at it.
