Does anyone have a construction number listing for Davenport Locomotive steam production? I'm looking for info on an 0-4-0T sold to Morris & Dougherty Co., St. Paul MN. The builders photo shows a road number of 1982, but I've heard that Davenport took photos with the construction number, then replaced it with road number before delivery. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks! kevinmccabe@avenew.com |

> Dear Kevin: The Railway & Locomotive Historical Society publishes construction lists for most North American steam locomotive builders, including Davenport. It is true that some owners used construction numbers as road numbers. J. David jdconrad@snet.net |

My Davenport list shows Davenport c/n 1986, 2/1924, was for Morris and Doughtery of St. Paul, MN, and was an 11X16, 0-4-0 steamer built to 36in gauge. |

My list concurs with the above. Shop #1982 was another 3' gauge, 14x20, 0-4-0 built 2/24 for the Ohio Gravel Ballast Co., Cincinnati. Gord McOuat Halton County Radial Ry. |
