Does anyone have a construction number listing for Davenport Locomotive steam production? I'm looking for info on an 0-4-0T sold to Morris & Dougherty Co., St. Paul MN. The builders photo shows a road number of 1982, but I've heard that Davenport took photos with the construction number, then replaced it with road number before delivery. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Railway & Locomotive Historical Society publishes construction lists for most North American steam locomotive builders, including Davenport.
It is true that some owners used construction numbers as road numbers.

My Davenport list shows Davenport c/n 1986, 2/1924, was for Morris and Doughtery of St. Paul, MN, and was an 11X16, 0-4-0 steamer built to 36in gauge.

My list concurs with the above.
Shop #1982 was another 3' gauge, 14x20, 0-4-0 built 2/24 for the Ohio Gravel Ballast Co., Cincinnati.
