I hadn't heard about this until I saw the departure listed on steam central after watching the tire changing video post today.

As far as I know this is the first time a QJ has been out since the flood relief trains in 2008.

"The Iowa Interstate Railroad, LTD in conjunction with volunteer Fire Departments in Earlham, Anita and Atlantic, Iowa will be offering train rides pulled by Iowa Interstate’s QJ Steam Locomotive 7081 on July 24 & 25 as a fundraiser for the Fire Departments.

On Sunday July 25, trips will leave Atlantic, Iowa at 9:00 a.m., 12 noon and 3:00 p.m for a trip to Anita and return and will leave Anita at 10:10 a.m. 1:10 p.m. and 4:05 p.m for trips to Atlantic and return. Seating is limited. First two trips from Atlantic and Anita are sold out but seats remain for the 3:00 p.m. and 4:05 p.m departures.
