"Strengthening Museum Practice" October 13-17, 2010 Join us in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC for the Association’s first multivenue conference. Working with the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum and the City of Bowie Museums, the National Capital Trolley Museum has planned three full days of seminars, scheduled so you may attend all sessions. Responding to the issues raised by participants at prior conferences, the sessions focus on strengthening museum practices among the railroad, streetcar, and depot museums of the Association. Reflecting this membership diversity, the Conference travels to a different museum each day. Returning to the Hilton Hotel in Rockville, Maryland each evening, Conference attendees have ready access to the Metro subway and Washington’s nightlife. http://www.railwaymuseums.org/Static/documents/FINALFLYER.pdf |

Update: Conference Highlights include a pre-conference tour of the Smithonian's America on the Move exhibit led by Smithsonian staff, a full day at the B&O Museum on Thursday, and a presentation by noted rail historian John Hankey on Saturday morning. Wesley |
