The Northwest Railway Museum is in the process of repainting our 1951 Fairbanks-Morse H12-44 Switcher, Weyerhaeuser Timber #1. We have removed the windows and all of the rubber mounts have failed. These are single glazed aluminum frames that are screwed to the cab with a unique rubber mount for the glass. These frames appear to be similar to the windows used in later steel cabooses.

Does anyone have a source for this rubber? I have contacted Adlake but have gotten no reply.

Thanks,

Richard Wilkens

I have been successful in getting window mouldings from C.R. Laurence Co from their Los Angeles warehouse.

I also have a fancy brochure I picked up at a AREMA conference a few years ago from http://www.lauren.com/

Wasatch Railroad Contractors in Cheyenne, WY can provide the seals. We are doing a very large window project on a very exclusive and high quality passenger train set based in Denver. We have the ability to produce any seal that is needed.
