Post subject:  Furka Bergstrecke - Oberwald - Gletsch section now open

Hi Folks,

The final section of the Furka Bergstrecke in Switzerland was reopened yesterday. The newly reopened section boasts a retractable rack section at a road crossing in Oberwald, two viaducts, and the famous helical tunnel.

Best Regards,

PS - As a side note, I believe the final section of the Weisseritztalbahn, between Dippoldiswalde and Kipsdorf is also supposed to reopen this year.

PPS - And don't forget the recent unveiling of the locomotive "Lyd", a full-size, working replica of a Lynton & Barnstaple "Manning Wardle" by the Ffestiniog Railway.

Big year for the narrow gauge - and I don't think the announcements for the year are done yet!
