| Post subject: | White Mountain Central RR steam update |
Was just checking the WMCRR website to see if there was an update on the Heisler #4's boiler work, and ran across a "latest news" item that the WMC's diesel was pulling the excursion train due to the steam locomotive being sidelined with drive shaft problems. I called the WMCRR to check on their steam status, and was told Climax #6 will be out of service for the balance of the season with drive shaft problems. Heisler #4 is still under restoration--the spokesperson wasn't sure of its exact status at this point, but said it definitely will not be operating this year. The only steam at the WMCRR for the balance of the year will likely be for Railroad Days on September 18th and 19th--when they hope to have Baldwin 2-4-2T #5 and their Porter 0-4-0T running.
