Ah, young friend, no need to rush your post here. Milwaukee is spelled with one L and it's nice to capitalize and punctualize, eh? Here is the most recent information on this board:

You could have found this yourself with a quick search on "261"

John,
Work is continuing on the boiler and running gear. Most of this is "invisible" work compared with the dropping of the drivers.

Fund raising is also ongoing. Fall color diesel-powered trips will be offered on October 9 and 10, 2010, using Amtrak diesels and FO 261 passenger equipment. The Saturday trip operates on the BNSF to Boylston, WI (just south of Superior) and the Sunday trip will operate down the CP's ex-Milwaukee Rd mainline to Winona and LaCrescent. Tickets are available at: http://www.261.com

All proceeds from these trips will go towards the rebuilding of 261. Come along for a nice fall train ride and help get 261 back on the road sooner. Thanks.

Don C.
