| Post subject: | GE 70 ton question |
Rather than hijack the 80 ton thread, let me start a new thread to ask a quesion. On the classic end cab GE 70 tonner, with the Cooper Bessemer FWL-6T engine, does the main generator hang off the end of the engine, like on an Alco or EMD? Or does it have two bearings, and is coupled to the engine by a driveshaft or flexible coupling? I've often wondered about this, but have never had the opportunity to examine one that closely. |
