How often do we see a steam engine doing actual freight work these days? Here's a link to some pictures Earl Knoob posted on the NGDF of SLRG #18 doing some. Something we don't see very often.

I think nkp 765 did do some freight drags somewhere in testing or some reason, just a nick of the memory banks I seem to recall.

THe Iowa INterstate RR with Henry Posner Chinese 2-10-2 QJs 6988 and 7081 have operated regular revenue freight trains and In October 2008 we pulled the heavyest steam power freight in this century about 6200 tons from Iowa City to Rock Island

Every once in a while we would move some freight with steam at Wilmington and Western.

The 765 did a number of freight runs on the TP&W when she first hit the road.

Geez, there might be more revenue steam than revenue with F units...

1225 pulled a grain train for their host railroad about 7 years ago.

Here's some videos of Pere Marquette 1225 pulling a mix passenger/freight back in 2007 for RailAmerica's HESR. It was reroute to Saginaw, MI to pull RA's VIP Train.
