Post subject:  Mass Scrapping of P&LE Hoppers

This is the second "P&LE scrap train" I have seen written up on the web. Are any of these cars headed for preservation? Not often you find a collection of old hoppers like this.

While these are not steam-era cars, as 70-tonners they have steam-era proportions and would look more correct in a steam- or early diesel-powered photo freight, unlike the more modern 100-ton hoppers (and Center Flows!) which are sometimes used. WMSR take note: WM had a fleet of cars that were very similar to these in the 72000 class.
