In looking over a series of photos of a group of Baldwin built logging mikes it would seem to me that these locomotives could have been ordered from a "shopping list" of features to create just the locomotive to suit the buyers needs. Running gear and boilers all seem to be the same or very similar and it is obvious that between some tank engines and some tender engines there was very little difference in the final product except for configuration. Does anyone know if there are drawings in existance for some of the component parts? I would be particularly interested in a split saddle tank as well as drawings of running gear and lead and trailing trucks. I seem to recall that there were a bunch of Baldwin drewaings saved, but can't remember where. Any help would be appreciated. http://www.wcra.org gferguson@aebc.com |

Try the DeGolyer library at Southern Methodist University at Dallas. they have quite collection of BLW drawings, and, yes, quite a bit of it is logging and shortline stuff. derailment |
