Post subject:  car 57 roof progress

Hi to all

A update on the 8 weeks of roof work so far, I have made and replaced all the straight sections of roof trim and re attached and patched all the terne metal roof edge. the entire roof is sealed with silicone roof sealant, first all the holes with a gun and then the entire roof with brushable paintable sealant made by a company in Colorado......we will see how it holds up through the winter. So far the roof has consumed about $1600 in materials and hundreds of hours, imagine if we had a building none of this would be necessary !!
Our prize 1909 Paris exposition ticket is now being investigated by the Grand Palais museum staff in France, they are VERY interested in its history and how it got to be in the roof of a C&S railroad car.
