Post subject:  RS4TC Traction Motors and Brushes

I am looking to find the any information on Traction Motors for a Baldwin RS4TC locomotive. I think they are Westinghouse, but I have looked all over them and can't find a data plate. The most critical need right now is for brushes but any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ben

According to my book, they should be a Westinghouse 974-A motor. The brushes ar 3/4" x 1-1/2" x 2-1/4", p/n 1260218.

This book is for the RS4TC that had been rebuilt with a Cat prime mover.

Hope it helps.
Rob

They all have CAT diesels, as built they had D-397 V-12's.

Here is a link to an online manual for the rebuilt RS-4-TC-1A

I have had Electric Motor and Supply do work for me on traction motors and they should either be able to supply you with them or point you in the right direction. (814) 946-0401 and talk to Pat.
