I encourage everyone to check out the new Chicago Aurora & Elgin web archive, presented by Julie Johnson of IRM. This is a simply amazing collection of material to be shared online, and the collaboration with any number of fellow museums, interested individuals, as well as the Shoreline Historical Society is certainly a model to follow for future endeavors.

My opinion, but this is the new gold standard for what can, and should be made available online. No point having all this "stuff" if it never sees the light of day, and what better way to share ?

Congratulations to Julie and crew for such a fine effort (and a nice finish to an amazinng year of CA&E restoration and preservation work at IRM as well)

I think this is what the mature Internet will look like. There are weeks of your spare time to be spent here. Simply wonderful, especially to those of us that road the 'Roar'n Elgin to see the Marshall Field Christmas Animated Windows on State Street with their Mom. Excellent work! Thanks.

It is truly a terrific resource and interest should extend far beyond CA&E fans. For one thing all issues through 2009 of "First and Fastest" are available to read.

Registration for the site is required but there's no email verification so it only takes a few seconds.
