More fiddling around on YouTube. . . Fontaine Fox's "Toonerville Trolley" was briefly adapted to animated film in the 1930s. As far as I know, these may be the only adaptations made, produced by a studio that apparently closed at about this time (one of the commentators suggested one of these shorts was the very last production).
