Look at it this way:

I don't like "Street Rods". I'd much rather see an antique automobile restored to it's original appearance and mechanics....show it for what it truly is. However, there are only so many folks that will "save" an antique car and restore it this way. There are several other folks who will invest their time, money, and effort to restore an antique auto as a Street Rod. Without these folks' efforts, it's likely that most of the cars preserved as Street Rods would have been junked. Therefore, Street Rods are antique car preservation.

At the end of the day, unless it's your money, effort, and time, you may have to be thankful for what you can get.
