The server that handles the front page part of RyPN is currently down. This also makes steamlocomotive.info non-working. An engineer has been dispatched to fix the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience. |

I guess if you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself. I drove down to the datacenter expecting to see a complete disaster as our support engineer couldn't figure out why the server wasn't responding. The server had been moved to a new rack in the datacenter this afternoon, and when he reconnected it, he plugged the Ethernet cable into the wrong jack. Moved jack, contemplated firing engineer, decided not to Anyhoo, everything is back to normal. Regards, Doug |

Regards, Doug I know the feeling - i once had to fly into Pittsburgh, drive 2+ hours through a snowstorm to Fairmont, WV in order to turn a keyswitch from "OFF" to "RUN". The local guy said it wasn't his job. Thanks for fixing it! |

The geniuses in my data center just had me repair a sink drain clogged with food in their break room - no disposal in the sink, and they assumed they couldn't find the switch. Maybe on the next cold night I need to remind them it pays to be good to the guy who controls the HVAC system. dave |
