My eyes almost popped out when I saw that photo of a Rutland 0-6-0! But reading the article, it seems that only the backhead and cab were saved. I didn't think any Rutland steam had survived.

Rome Romano has done some research that shows one of the surviving NYC 0-6-0's was originally assigned to the RUT. She'd be the closest we will ever come to a surviving RUT steamer, unless someone has a 4-8-2 in their barn.

Gee, maybe they could put it with the front end of the Missouri Pacific 2-8-0 that got preserved in Dupo, Illinois. Make for kind of a short locomotive though. Unless someone just happened to save a boiler and running gear. Anyone?
