What's now the Catskill Mountain Railroad in New York was the destination for a New York Central Ski Train operation in the 1930's. What's now known as Romer Park in Phoenicia had a tow-rope ski area, with a convenient trackside loading area:

This site is now a campground, but the Catskill Mountain's operations are separated from the site by several severe washouts along the Esopus Creek.
