[for those not into Southern California history, the Mount Lowe Railway (which became part of Pacific Electric) was a narrow-gauge electric railway running through the San Gabriel Mountains north of Pasadena. There was a funicular railway joining the standard gauge railway to Los Angeles with the mountain railway)] By the time the Arrowhead project would have been completed, motor buses had become practical for mountain operation, and eventually a PE subsidiary provided bus service to the Lake Arrowhead area.
