This ha been making the rounds. Seems the 49 now has a proper GS-4 3-chime whistle as an early Christmas gift and it sounds great.

It is nice that she now has the "proper" whistle on her, but I have to say, that I prefer the sound of the old SP six chimer that she's carried for so long. However, if it is indeed the proper whistle for her, that's what she should carry.

Actually her whistle as of late was a NP Z class 3-chime. She hasn't had an SP whistle for quite a while. Personally I would prefer taking it one step further and hearing the air horn as it was in service but Doyle likes the whistle. Interesting according to a thread I read elsewhere the whistle came with a different valve then what they have on it now. The new valve allows them to use a cord with the whistle to allow quiling.

Nice whistle. The valve that came with the new whistle is a air valve. Doesnt PM 1225 have one of these?
